One of my favorite places in my current ‘hometown’ Stara Zagora is the library. I can spend hours there.
I have always loved libraries and books so I asked my project coordinator Petya to take me there to get a members’ card. My housemate and fellow volunteer in the project, Can, also came with us, although he wasn’t as excited as I was.
We arrived at the big building one afternoon. The librarian took a portrait photo of each one of us and then quickly printed our members’ cards. Then Petya showed us around the different floors with books. We met with other librarians, too and we explained them why we are here in Bulgaria and what we do.
From then on, I regularly visit the library. I found some good textbooks to use to improve my English language. For my Bulgarian language learning, I read small kid’s literature books. They are easy to understand because they have lots of pictures. I really like the atmosphere and the people there are very friendly. I met other young people at the library, too.
